How to Cook Lumpia
Lumpia or Fried Spring Rolls, if done right, is a simple and delicious dish. Learning how to cook lumpia is easy. Just combine all the ingredients, wrap and deep fry until golden brown.
How do you make fried lumpia stay crispy
The key to keeping lumpia crunchy is to use the right wrapper. Wrappers can make or break your lumpia so it’s important to make sure you are using the best you can find. Buying freshly made from the market is ideal. However, there are also very good frozen brands. I use the square lumpia wrapper from the grocery store when freshly made are not available. Wrap tight enough that it looks packed but not overstuffed, deep fried under medium fire to make sure the filling is cooked evenly. Drained in a stainless drainer tray to allow excess oil to drip and to cool. Do not stack on top of the other and make sure you do not cover. Trapped heat from the lumpia when covered will moisten the roll.
This recipe does not use many ingredients. But I am proud to say that this is one of the most requested dishes of my in laws. So addicting these fried spring rolls are best dipped with soy sauce and calamansi or store bought Sweet Chili sauce for the dip.
